But these dishes take a lot of time to prepare and making them for a large number of people can be a hectic task. So, if you are looking for simple yet delicious treats to serve at your weekend party, here are three delicious snack recipes for you made with the goodness of cheese.

Mozzarella Cheese Sticks - Serves 8

Prep time: 15 mins, Cooking time: 10 mins
Easy to prepare, these deep-fried snacks are crispy from the outside with gooey cheese on the insides.

Mozzarella cheese sticks

Ingredients
2Eggs
1/4 cupWater
1 1/2 cupsSeasoned breadcrumbs
1/2 tspGarlic salt
2/3 cupFlour
1/3Cornstarch
2 cupsVegetable oil
1 blockMozzarella, cut into sticks

Method

  • In three separate bowls, set up your breading station. In the first bowl, whisk together the eggs and water. In the second bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and garlic salt. In the third bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cornstarch.
  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan and one at a time, dredge a mozzarella stick in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Dip the stick into the mixture and then coat the cheese stick with breadcrumb mixture.
  • Place the bread stick on a plate and repeat with all the remaining cheese sticks. Now carefully fry the sticks until golden brown.
  • Remove the fried sticks from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Repeat the same with the remaining breaded cheese and enjoy.

Ingredients

1/ 2 cupFlour
4Eggs
1 stickButter
1 cupWater
1 cupCheddar cheese, grated
2 tspThyme
1/2 tspSalt
To tasteFreshly ground pepper

Method

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with silicone or parchment paper. Boil the water, butter, and salt: In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Reduce heat to medium and immediately add the flour all at once. Stir rapidly with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a dough ball that pulls away from the sides of the pan. Continue cooking for a couple of minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Remove the pan from heat and let the dough cool for a few minutes. Stir occasionally to cool evenly. Add the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition until fully incorporated.
  • Gently fold in the grated cheese, chopped thyme, and a few grinds of black pepper. Scoop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving at least an inch between each. Bake for 10 minutes at 425°F (220°C).
  • Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.

Loaded with cheese, garlic and bread, this toast is extremely delicious and very easy to prepare.

1 loafSourdough bread
2 tbspMinced garlic
1 cupCheddar cheese, shredded
1 cupParmesan cheese, grated
2 tbspSoftened butter
2 tsp Oregano

Method

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  • Cut the bread loaf into thick slices. In a medium bowl, mix the garlic, cheese, and oregano.
  • Spread the softened butter on one side of each bread slice. Pile the cheese mixture generously onto the buttered sides of the bread slices.
  • Bake the bread slices for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Switch your oven to broil and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
