Being perfect for breakfast, it can be enjoyed for lunch as well as dinner. Paneer paratha is a complete meal on its own but for an extra flavour, you can also pair this protein-packed flatbread with any pickle, raita or your favourite chutney. Adding in a generous layer of cheese that will melt into an oozing creamy layer will up the flavour and create a perfectly decadent bite.
Here is an easy recipe to make paneer paratha at home that is loaded with health and taste.
Paneer Paratha Recipe - Serves 8
Prep Time: 15 minutes, Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Paneer paratha is a delicious breakfast option that will also provide you with a daily dose of protein.
QuantityIngredients
2 cupsWhole wheat flour
1/2 tspSalt
2 tspOil
As requiredWater
200 gms Paneer, crumbled
2 tspCilantro, chopped
50 gms Cheese, diced
1 choppedGreen chilli
1/4 tspGaram masala
1/4 tspCarom seeds
1/4 tspRed chilli poweder

Method

  • In a large bowl, combine atta, salt, and oil. Gradually add water, mixing until a soft, smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.
  • While the dough rests, crumble paneer into a bowl. Add cilantro, diced cheese, green chilli, garam masala, ajwain, and salt. Mix well to combine.
  • Divide the dough into 8 equal balls. Roll each ball into a smooth disc. Keep the rolled discs covered to prevent drying. Heat a tawa over medium-high heat.
  • Take one dough disc and flatten it slightly. Roll it out into a 4–5-inch diameter circle. Brush the dough with about ¼ teaspoon of oil.
  • Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the paneer filling onto the centre of the dough circle. Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal the filling inside, forming a pouch and roll it into a paratha.
  • Place the rolled paratha on the preheated tawa. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown spots appear.
  • Brush or drizzle oil on the cooked side and flip the paratha. Cook the other side for a minute, then brush again with oil.
  • Repeat the same with the remaining dough and filling. Serve hot with your favourite chutney or raita.
