Cheese Samosa Recipe - Serves 6

Samosas are India's go-to snack food for any time of the day whether it's breakfast, tea time or a midnight snack. And with the addition of delicious melted cheese, these versions will keep you coming back for more.

QuantityIngredients
1 cupMozzarella or Cheddar Cheese
2Capsicum, finely chopped
2Green chillies, finely chopped
3 tspCoriander leaves, finely chopped
1/2 tbspRed chilli flakes
Salt to taste

Filling

1 cupMozzarella cheese (or Cheddar cheese)
1/2 tspOregano
1/2 tspRed Chilli Flakes
1/2 tspSalt

Samosa Sealing Paste

2 tbspAll purpose flour
3 tbspWater

Method

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cheese with the ingredients for the chosen filling. Set aside.
  • Take a sheet of samosa pastry and place a spoonful of filling in the top corner. Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle, then continue folding in a triangular shape until you reach the end. Use the flour-water paste to seal the edges securely.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the samosas and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the samosas from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve the cheese samosas hot, accompanied by your favourite sauce or chutney.
